A chance encounter in a dim bar pulls the coterie deeper into St. Ardent’s unrest. Questions about the river surface alongside dangerous new obligations, and what should have been a routine investigation turns wrong in unsettling ways. Old concrete bears fresh scars, instincts overwhelm restraint, and by the time the group seeks shelter among familiar shadows, the city answers back. When the lights fail, the night is far from over.
